Early Decision (ED) and Early Action (EA) both mean submitting your applications earlier in the admissions cycle.
With so many deadlines to juggle, it’s easy to lose track.
That’s why we made this complete guide.
Our Organizer includes the latest deadlines for the Class of 2030.
The key difference? Early Action is non-binding, meaning you can usually apply to multiple schools via EA. However, some schools offer Restrictive or Single-Choice Early Action (REA/SCEA), which limits you from applying early to other private institutions. Early Decision is binding, so if you’re accepted, you’re committing to that school and must withdraw all other applications.
